Well, I finally got my other laptop to stay on long enough to transfer almost everything to the external hard drive. I think there were two folders left (they were school folders, for two of the classes I've had) when the laptop went all blue screen on me again. I gave up at that point, once I saw what hadn't transferred over, because if for some reason I ever need one of the papers from that 200 level theo I took first semester senior year, I can always turn on ol' Delly over there and get it. The likelihood that that will ever happen is, as you can guess, quite slim.
All night now I've been trying to get things set up on this computer. I think I got the pictures transferred to the Pictures folder on here, and the music too into the music folder. Now I'm trying to get the music moved into Windows Media. It of course downloaded WM11, with which I had not had much success awhile back. So we'll see how that goes. So far not looking great. I have some CDs that are in there, but lots that aren't...Oh, maybe they're still transferring over. That's what it looks like. So hopefully things are good there...It's annoying, because I didn't steal any of the music I have, but I can't just put everything on a new computer by licit means of transferring directly from a CD (because, with a large number of my CDs, I no longer have them in my possession thanks to the lovely USPS). Oh well. Maybe one of these days now, assuming things go ok with the music and stuff, I'll finally be able to use my Zune that I've had for a month and a half! Won't that be exciting.
Oh also, I opened Picasa (and I have to start from scratch on this new computer with that), and it automatically checks for pictures on the computer. So it was doing that for a loooooong time tonight. Because I didn't really think about it, and the external hard drive is still attached, it downloaded the pictures in the legit pictures folder, the same ones that are in the folder I transferred from my old laptop, the ones in that folder in the external hard drive, and because of all the trouble I was having with that earlier today some things managed to get put onto the external like three times, so it got copies of alllll of those. Plus pictures Mom must have from her computer that are on the external. So for some folders, I have six of them in my picasa. I have to go through now and delete the superfluous ones. Bleh. Oh well. Obviously, I'll take that over what I had before.
I'm almost amazed at what I've put this laptop through tonight, and yet -- it's still on and going strong! Beyond exciting, y'all.
Also? (Unrelated.) We had gotten Ben-Hur from Netflix the other day, which I've actually never really seen. I'm pretty sure I might have watched part of it one time like fifteen years ago or some long time ago when I was too young to be interested in it, but it's actually pretty good, did you know? I mean, it's pretty not well-known. You say Ben-Hur, people say "Huh?" Haha. Or not. But yeah. Anyway. Good stuff.
Oh, and sorry, no pictures tonight. Didn't expect this importing and transferring and all would take this long. Man I wish there were a way to import playlists from my other windows media to this one. Oh well. I also can't figure out how to move my bookmarks from the old laptop to this one. I have a link thing that will open up a new page with them all listed there, so I just bookmarked that page, but yeah. Oh well to that too. I'll just have to make new folders with the same subjects as the old ones, and just start over. I can always go back to the old ones if I need to, with that bookmarked page.
Tomorrow I'm trying out a new Mass, and it's one at St. Gabriels. I mean, it's not new, but I've never gone to it. Hopefully it's good. Tomorrow also I have to do what I was supposed to work on today: my completely ridiculously cluttered (to put it far too mildly) room. Hopefully to the point where I can put a dresser in there. It'll help clear out a lot o the stuff that's on the floor (since a lot of it is clothes at the moment). Although there's no way all my clothes will fit in a dresser. I hope that with the cleaning will come some good purging too, though. Ugh. I'm sick of my room being the way it is, but it's so overwhelming to think about fixing it. Especially when I consider the fact that I have no idea where I'm going to fit a dresser...if I got rid of the bookshelf that's in there, I could put it there, which I am considering doing. Currently the bookshelf is the holder of a bunch of junk and clutter, and a few books that happened to get there only by chance. There used to be books on it, but then one summer (two summers ago now, I think -- wow how sad it's still like this) I moved it from one side of the room to the other to fit a wardrobe (which also needs some purging -- although at the moment it's more or less empty), so all the books went into a couple of boxes. Where they remain to this day. Anyway. It'll be a glorious day when I get all that done. I'd like to put a twin size bed in there instead of my queen, so I'd have more room, but we don't have any twin sized beds around anymore. And it'd be silly to go buy a new one. So anyway.
Well, three (or is it four?) posts in one day. Haven't done that in awhile, I don't think. And yet all of them were basically completely boring...sorry about that. But let's face it, I don't have a lot of interesting things to discuss. Gotta make do with what I've got.
And what I've got is to go to bed.
